Spirit is an important, yet elusive, concept to explore. Due to historical reasons and current materialistic outlook, the concept of spirit is not considered worthy of serious intellectual exploration. Indeed, in today’s atheistic atmosphere, it is shunned. Often, the concept of spirit is examined through a theological lens. In this presentation, I will explore the concept of spirit, as presented in the Bahá’í Scriptures, from a scientific perspective. We will see why spirit is the foundational ground upon which an undivided, rational, scientific whole can be constructed.
