Entry 31 – after Munich – understanding

While writing up my notes after the Munich symposium, focussing on what understanding means in the context of achieving the three levels of understanding, correlating this to the two repositories of knowledge, science & religion, discussing the importance of having a similar perspective on the meaning of key words & concepts in the sequence of courses, and the concept of unity of vision in our endeavours and the subject of research across boundaries (June 2010 symposium in Luxembourg).

What gives my hope is that I may see some meat coming out of these explorations. A possible coming together of my deep feelings what I should be researching and on the other side of the line a move from at least one professor that challenges Bahá’í thinking or the methods of understanding. This has brought me to have a fresh look at Lample’s book on transforming social reality and I now see how much of it deals with the issue of understanding. At this stage it maybe useful to upload my ongoing reflections so far to the Moodle, as suggested.
